MacBook Pro extension bringing back missing ports

This is a well-designed USB Type-C hub that brings back missing ports on your MacBook Pro. Notably, it allows HDMI, SD cards and two USB 3 ports to be connected, and even adds a micro SD slot, which I found to be more stable compared to the full size. However, it uses both ports on the side of the laptop. This is an issue if you plan to upgrade your MacBook Pro in the future and the new model may not be exactly the same distance as this one. (I tested with an extension cord, both plugs seem…

No ethernet, but oh well. This is a good alternative to Apple Key

I love my MBP and I understand where the USB-C trend is going. Also, I like this trend. One connector type offers flexibility and I like that. The downside is that until this trend continues, I'll be stuck with legacy connections. and I hate that Apple has snow white keys for the rather sleek space gray MBP. It just looks sticky. So this adapter caught my eye. Color and finish go very well together. It is also reversible and fits either side of the MBP. The connections work as expected and I…

Tovatek to the rescue!

5/5 Amazing all-in-one hub for the new MacBooks! Apple has delighted us once again with a new range of Macbooks with no ports for almost everything I use in my daily life, lol. Luckily, Tovatec stepped in and saved the day! This adapter is truly essential for anyone considering a new MacBook in the future. It brings back everything Apple removed from the last MacBook Pro range, with USB 3.0, SD cards and HDMI! The build quality of this hub is very good, it feels like an extension of my machine.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its intended purpose
Cons
  • Functionality

Price point Space Gray color goes well with 2016 13 inch Macbook Pro in Space Gray with Touch Bar. It matches pretty much on top of the Macbook Pro, has a small 1/2mm thick gap and offers functionality without bulk. or clutter and fits neatly into any tote or laptop bag without adding weight, bulkiness or cables. Ports 3.0 work as expected. I tried the SD card to upload photos from the camera, it works. I didn't use micro SD but I'm sure it works. And yes we have Thunderbolt 3 and USB C - they…

Stylish, compact and functional, the hub performs exactly as promised.

This compact port works well and looks good. The Tovatec Hub isn't machined precisely enough to fit your MacBook Pro perfectly (unlike the image shows millimeters of daylight), but it's pretty close. There is very little flexibility. USB-C connections could be made without worrying about taking it out of the MacBook. I was more cautious with the old USBs for fear of unplugging the Tovatec hub instead of unplugging the USB. Keep in mind that while the hub has two USB-C ports, only one is good…

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
