My new bike rack wouldn't let me remove my spare tire from the back of my Jeep. This extension works great. It also makes it easier to tow a trailer and also allows the tailgate to be opened when using the tow hitch platform holder.

Very durable and reliable. Fits well in my caravan. Solid piece, for the money I would like a 2nd set of length selector holes, I will most likely drill the holes myself. And I've had the best pin ever.

May work when towing a trailer, but with the bike rack there is too much clearance between the hitch extension and the vehicle's hitch. I could get a nut in the clutch to tighten it. For the first use I actually used double sided tape and it helped a bit.

This worked perfectly for me. I needed to clear my spare tire for use with the trailer but didn't want the extra long extensions available at local stores. It was enough to clean my tire. It feels stable and only slightly increases rattling, which is to be expected with more hinges. I have not tried any anti-rattle devices.

Great extension, very well made. I saw that they offered multiple sizes, it was enough to clear my 2017 Jeep Wrangler part. I received the locking pin soon after as I didn't want anyone clinging to it. I put the beavertail step back in the add-on, great ground clearance and some protection if someone parks too close. I bought this to add to my hitch to make the bike rack fit and to get past the large spare tire I have on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I bought this to use with a Jeep bike rack with a 2" hitch. The bike carrier requires a hitch clamp with pin and clip closure. The hole in the portion of the extension that goes into the hitch is about 1/8 inch too close to the larger outer portion of the receiver to accept a U-bolt hitch wrench. So I returned it. I assume this works fine if you don't need a hitch tensioner. In total I bought 3 other brands of 7" hitch extensions for a similar price hoping to find one that would fit the hitch…
