Guilty. And yes, wildlife and trail cameras

It will not work! "Castle" is actually not a castle and shouldn't be called that. Is it a special cylinder screw that supposedly requires a special key? The squirrel can't open it, but anyone passing by (or a thief on an ATV) would only need a decent leatherman to turn the screw. Not sure at all. I should have looked before I bought it but when he said "lock" I thought it was a real lock. Guilty. And yes, a simple pair of metal scissors will cut through the tape like butter. So ATV riders who…

This is a good product, but I don't think it's safe. Security is a star-shaped screw head held in place by an aluminum band. The problem is that there is no security. You must tighten the screw very firmly. There is no locking mechanism. You can loosen the screw with different sized screwdrivers, possibly with a similar sized Phillips head. The pliers on the head should also come loose. The strap is thin. Can be cut with scissors for metal or a hatchet. I think something is better than nothing.

easy to use best for hunting and fishing

I have these on three of my cameras. Here in Arizona, all of my hunting takes place on public land, some in areas with heavy foot traffic. I heard that several cameras were stolen in the area but not mine. They are lightweight, easy to use and safe. Working with cameras and surveillance cameras. I recommend that you use the strap that came with the camera to attach it to a tree, fence post or whatever, then put on the camera strap and tighten. It's a shame the hunting community has come to the…

Really sweet! Some Tips

I would really like to give five stars because it works well even with small trees. Here are some design ideas for the maker. I have a problem with the key tool used to lock/unlock. . Whenever I bought a lock of any kind, I always got two keys. If I lose one I have one to fall back on (or more if I was smart enough to make supplements. I only have one and figured what if I lose it somehow? required to get another) . "This is not a key that can be duplicated. Also, it would be ideal if someone…

Does what it was designed to do.

Ideal for trail cameras that don't have strap slots big enough to fit a cable lock through and being flat and tight against wood it's harder for someone to reach either side of it around to cut it. Just be careful when putting it on and attaching it to the tree. The metal band is stiff and can be difficult to handle if you take your time and don't pay attention to what you're doing. It was getting dark and I was in a hurry to put it on and I broke the cheap plastic slots on one of my cameras…

Wouldn't use it unless the camera required it.

I had a game camera that for unknown reasons did not have the standard straps that game cameras usually have. The only solution I found was a flat strap latch like this that fits through the same slots that a cloth strap would normally go through. I blame the chamber design, but this is a tough alternative to a traditional cable lock. This works even though the locking mechanism is a tamper evident screw, not a locking mechanism. The biggest problem I found was trying to thread the strap and…

Nice but could be better

This is definitely more secure than the strap that came with these cameras. Lost mine to some bastard who snatched it from a tree in the woods 100ft from my house. Try again. I have a second hidden camera watching this! In any event, this product would be much better if the rotation of a bolt, once wrapped around a tree, would also press it tighter against the tree like a hose clamp does. Then it would be possible to press it firmly. You need to coordinate by holding the cam and pressing the…
