🔧 Optimized Triple Clamp Mounting Bracket for Trail Tech Vapor/Vector (022-OEB) Review

A very basic device but sooooo much better than the plastic rack mount that comes with computers. The plastic broke very quickly and looks like it will last longer than a computer. It is very lightweight yet durable. And I like how the little rubber washers dampen the vibrations a bit without transferring them all to the computer, which should help it last longer. Glad I got this extra mount for about $10. I didn't know how the Vapor would mount to my bike (a 2002 Honda XR650L) and what mounting options came with the Vapor unit. This little extra mount is made from aluminum with rubber bumpers and added some mounting flexibility which I really appreciated. Installation. And I wouldn't feel free to cut and experiment if I only had a mount that comes with the device.

This is a great mount if you are NOT doing what I did. When I installed my Trail Tech Vapor on my DR650, I didn't realize that the stock speedometer bracket was bolted to the triple clamp. I didn't see it under the bracket and thought it was welded and just part of the assembly. So I couldn't figure out why this mount wouldn't fit at all! I thought maybe they sent me the wrong one. I ended up bending the new bracket and bolting it to the stock speedo bracket before realizing the stock one was…
