I like it a lot

So first things first. Everything seems to be working great so far. I've had it for 2 months now. (nearly). This seems a little slower than I thought it would be considering it's class 10 (fastest). I think it's hard to tell the difference unless you really are a test subject. Basically a reference guru. Everything else has been great so far and I have no regrets. It was definitely the best value I could get considering I didn't want to buy an overly cheap SD card because I didn't want it to be

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Only available in black

I used the same brand of board in Raspberry PI and it worked fine.

I used this Micro SD in ROKU 3. (Yes, I know 8GB is too much for ROKU, but I'm exaggerating everything). When you see a screen that says the SD card has been detected and asks if you want to format it, click the "Format" button. It will format part of it (maybe 50 or 60%) and then go back to SD detected. Screen. Just be patient, press "format" again and it will format some more and then go back to that "recognized" screen. You may have to do this 4 or 5 times before ROKU will format the wholeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • is understandable even for the old
Cons
  • . Makes me angry

but 8 months is still a pretty short lifespan for one of these

One alive, one dead. A few days ago. I bought this in April and have been using it for quite some time but 8 months is still a pretty short lifespan for one of these. I used to throw out unnamed USB cards after less than a year of use, but this is the first time a brand name card has died in less than two years. The warranty is shorter than Kingston and Sandisk parts so I don't think you should be too surprised.

Pros
  • Includes a full size SD adapter for multiple use or data transfer
Cons
  • Not the best

Works great in my Garmin

Garmin's latest map update for my Nuvi 2450 was too big to fit in the device's internal memory. I call this planned obsolescence. Although Garmin says they only officially support 8GB cards or less, I went with the 16GB card because it was only $2 more expensive and if it didn't work I could get it on another use location. The map update was successful and the device works as before. Now I have a lot of free space to store more vehicles, voices, pictures, etc. The speed of navigating the mapโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) handheld
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Handy speed measurement

I just inserted this newly purchased micro SD card into the slot of my 2012 Sony VAIO S laptop. I copied the contents of my old phone SD card (already on the laptop hard drive) to this new 16GB Transcend Class 10 card. The content is very diverse, ranging from hundreds of small Android files to dozens of medium-sized (10MB) MP3 files and a dozen not-so-large (60MB) videos. The copy was made in Windows XP with the usual drag'n'drop. Files copied: 1233. Total size: 3.33 GB (3,577,251,119 bytes)โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Embedded Error Correcting Code (ECC) to detect and correct transmission errors
Cons
  • Some difficulties
