We bought this for a trip to Ireland and Scotland. We wanted something we could take on a hike if needed, but not too big so we could pack it on the plane at no extra cost (small flights in the UK have strict size restrictions). It was beyond perfect and now my husband uses it for work every day. It's been over a year and it's holding up very well. I ordered 5 different bags for my husband and sent them back before deciding on this one. Liked the look, feel, size and capacity, and important security features. Have traveled all over southern Ireland and it was a solid bag EXCEPT when it was raining. The zippers let water in and the leather trim on the outside would soil the items in the bag if it got wet. This was a great travel backpack. We felt absolutely safe in Barcelona. I give it 4 stars because the main compartment zip ring is next to the water bottle pocket and is very difficult to secure when you have a water bottle in your bag. Possibly the safest travel backpack I have ever seen/owned. The zipper hooks offer serious security when hiking in Europe. Sturdy and reliable construction/material. My only minor criticism of this backpack is that I wish they would use a different material for the back panel (the part that rests against your back) to provide some sort of cooling.
