It was great for our trip to Europe because you can put a water bottle in the side pocket where available and lots of different pockets in the top and main pockets, each with zips. However, there is enough space in the main pocket to stow a down jacket in it. On the opposite side of the open pocket is a long, narrow, zippered pocket.
