I like the new design with a flexible adapter. I have a house full of early 6" retrofit bulbs from EcoSmart (Home Depot) that used Cree components. I'm a fan of Cree lightbulbs, especially with their warranty and product support. I find their LEDs to be excellent reproductions of the "warm white" light of incandescent bulbs around 2700 Kelvin, and typical Cree bulbs have more lumens than the other branded LEDs I've brought (Phillips).
