I'm a union carpenter and this is quite a handy tool, nice, durable, sharp chisel. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because sometimes I wish the hammer blow was a little longer. But nice tool.

is a quality tool. easy to disassemble and sharpen. We used it in our joinery to smooth out a sanded corner on the stringers of the stairs. It worked well on a 3/8" cut in pine. We tested oak with similar results. We wanted the tool to be ready the next time we need it.

I have built a table with keyed through slots and thought I would try this to define the corners before expanding the two sides for the keys . This little tool worked fantastic. I just installed it and hit it a few times and it exposed the top of the deep groove. This was great as it gave me a guide and a base to easily erase the rest of the groove with my chisels. This sped up my process and the slots were more accurate since I had multiple legs for this L shaped table I was building.
