Plates are not smooth as shown. All plates have a small round notch printed on them. The gold on some plates is also not of the best quality. In some places it is not fixed. This is a disposable plate, so that's all you can count on. I bought them for a simple wedding but didn't use them because they are so cheap. Nothing like the photo. The little round indentation was what didn't really work for me.

I had a special appointment where I wanted the presentation to be top notch. Our guests were impressed by the look of the plates. They were a little less researched than I expected but definitely suited my needs. I have used them with gold chargers. People didn't want to throw them away because they looked so beautiful. Those that were salvaged could easily be washed and reused. At the same time, I wasn't worried about it breaking or requiring major cleaning.

These are the prettiest disposable (YES! They can be recycled!) plates. I ordered a set even though I only needed 8 pieces. My friends thought they were great and now I have 40 extras to keep using :). I even ran them through my high end dishwasher just to see what happens. The blue plates have lost their gold around the rim, but the small white plates have survived the drying cycle even with heavy washing. Of course, they can be reused and then recycled when finished. Great and worth it!
