Don't put your phone on it

My HDMI connected monitor turns off intermittently when I leave my phone too close to this dock which must be an interference issue. Also, I can only connect one monitor to it. If I connect two it will only reflect. The specs warn you need small monitors to use this without mirroring. Given that and the fact that there is only one USB-A port, this isn't a very efficient docking station for me, it just saves me a plug-in.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Too hot! good for computers and accessories

I haven't used an SD card reader, but all other I/O work fine. My main complaint is that this thing gets stupidly hot even when you're not using electricity. Also, the power pass-through port is on the same side as the USB port, making cable connections a bit fiddly.

Tripp-Lite U442-DOCK11-S Just say NO.

Requires USB C hub with PD, 1G Ethernet and USB 3 ports. The purchasing department offered them. Overall a good experience with Tripp-Lite. Of course why not. These hubs are under $20 and definitely not worth the premium fee. Occasional use, less than 4-5 days per month. The main uses are network and USB ports. The first failed in less than two months. The warranty replacement worked for almost a year with occasional network and USB drops. Too many hours are spent troubleshooting intermittent…

Pros
  • Best in Niche
