I purchased this riding helmet for my twin girls, who are almost six. We purchased a size small. This meets my requirements for safety, ease of adjusting straps & their requirements of cuteness. It fits them comfortably, and with proper adjustments they will likely use it for a few years. Their trainer did warn me that if they fall, I should replace it right away. Great product for my 6 year old daughter. She loves the fit. The dial adjusts it for a comfortable fit. It maintains safe position on her head while riding and does not irritate. The straps are a bit tight, but adjust well enough and fit around the frame of her face well. She wears hearing aids and it does not intrude to the use of her aids while riding.

size small was too small for my 7 year old: medium fits well. straps fit well, if a little long. the horse on the outside makes my child want to wear it.
