Troxel Sierra Horseback Riding Safety Helmet Review

Great helmet very nice looking and fits great. Doesn’t make your head look huge. However I have bought this same helmet at a cheaper price elsewhere and it is the newer version with a magnetic clasp and ame with a mesh head cap with padding around the edge for a better fit. I need 3 of them and They didn’t have anymore so I bought them here at amazon. These did not come with the extra cap and is an older model without the magnetic clasp for a much higher price. This is how amazon is making up…

Great helmet. I used to never ride with a hemet,then I got smacked in the face on a trail ride. The branch actually stunned me for a moment, that's when I decided to buy this Troxel. It's light enough to be comfortable and can be sized individually

After damaging a Troxler helmet in a fall onto asphalt I replaced my damaged helmet with the same style. I am looking forward to years with the new Troxler. My friends noticed the new helmet and ask why I had it I told them the story and they were very impressed.

Bill fell off first week and will not stay on, now the cover is popping off. I’m very disappointed in this Troxel product That's my review.

I feel like a dork wearing it. I've been riding for over 60 years and never landed on my head until four weeks ago. But the nuero docs tell me another head injury and I will be a dork 24/7. (The other head injuries were not equine related.) Like all helmets it is hotter than hell. I don't wear it doing groundwork. It is time to leave the green rank and skittish to the younger generation.

Very comfortable and light. Looks good and easy to just wipe down if it gets dusty. However, I thought it would be more low profile, but it's not. Doesn't make a difference in its durability or comfort. Just letting you know its not that " low profile" looking when it's being worn.

Absolutely love this helmet! I always wear a helmet, as do most of my friends, and our helmet of choice is the Sierra by Troxel. It's lightweight, easy to connect, and meets all the normal safety regs. It's sharp looking yet laid back at the same time. Nice choice for the trail or the ring.

The rear adjust makes it so it literally fits everyone I've put it on -- from kids to adults, ponytails to short hair, etc. Extremely comfy, and nice low profile look so you don't look like an idiot wearing it. I've bought 4 in all different colors.

Many helmet have a half-hearted way to adjust them to your head. Not this one. The back fit is adjusted by moving two clips forward or backwards as needed; in addition, there is the possibility of arranging for a tighter fit side to side. We horseback riders know that it is only a matter of time before the next time we come off a horse. The idea that "experts" are safe and never fall off has left several "experts" with brain damage. I only have one head and I want to protect it.

It fits and it works. I’m not a big helmet fan, but it is required where I’m riding and I’m completely unaware that I have a helmet on. The fit is always worrisome, but this has some internal adjustment to make it just right.

Loved this helmet but I got one too small and needed a larger size. Returned to get a larger one but then came across a different one that was more low profile. But as far as ratings, this was an excellent and really good looking helmet with good safety standards quoted.

Yeah, it's a dorky helmet. Also yeah, it looks pretty darn cool considering it's not a Stetson. Well made, light weight, comfortable, the chocolate leather sets it apart in a good way, and if you value your brain more than your ego, it's a great way to go.

Ordered in July 2017, helmet received was a December 2016 production model (which is good!) Helmets are produced with expiration dates 5 years from purchase, so this was current stock. The XL fits like a glove.

The sizes on these helmets run a bit small. I have purchased the largest size available, still there is a lot pressure all around. The new adjustment mechanism seems very flimsy and the padding is held together by tiny strips of velcro.On the bright side the helmet is pretty light and attractive.Overall a mixed bag

This is a nice helmet. It fits nice, is lightweight and actually very comfortable! I ride western and never really thought about wearing a helmet before. Now that I am older and I have some newly broke horses I thought it might be time to start being a little safer. Its alot like the seatbelt.the more you wear it the more used to it you get and soon it just becomes habit. This helmet is so light and comfortable I sometimes actually forget I even have it on.

Super comfy, great fit. Love the look of the leather! Much better than any of the bright colored plastic ones I’ve suffered through. 😅

I purchased this helmet to replace a heavier one that I wore. This helmet is much lighter, and my head and neck feel much better after a long ride.This one is light weight and comfortable.
