Trunknets Get the Work Done

I needed to replace the almost 20 year old factory latches that were worn on one side. The trunknet latches worked great and kept the original Jeep hood look.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Only available in black

This item does not fit Wrangler 98

Tires too long for 1998 Jeep Wrangler. I had to re-drill the hole in the hood area to make the latch tighter and the part that appears narrow should be right in the middle. Had to go but won't buy again.

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Nothing

Price beats durability

I wish I could be a little more confident that they will last. I would like a little more confidence that the lock is secure. They didn't disappoint and they're a bit cheaper than most. So I'll be happy if I get a few years from them.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

Bad parts. in hood pins

Latch rubber center section too long. They're less money, but now my hood bounces in the wind as I ride. The plastic caps holding the rubber center to the plastic ends will fall apart. I had to glue them together to hold them together. Save your $$$. But other guys.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Too loose for 2000 tJ

Bought these to replace the old ones that were no longer tight enough. They were freer than the old ones. The rubber is about 1/4 inch longer than stock and much more flexible. The hood exploded and caught on the hood latch while driving. I ended up with plastic parts and my old rubber. At least it keeps the hood down while driving. Wouldn't buy a 2000 Wrangler.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • There are nuances

Identical to original locks on 2006 Jeep Wrangler (TJ)

What can I say? The old locks looked pretty busted on an otherwise decent Wrangler. It was the second thing my wife wanted to change after I bought it for her (second after the stereo). Easy to install, just make sure you line them up because before you tighten them, they can twist slightly, creating a slightly larger gap at one end than the other. They look great, work great, couldn't be happier!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Secret

Waste of money on exterior accessories

Edit: It's only been two months and I'm ordering replacement locks here. These latches are so flimsy that they do nothing else and sometimes fall onto the fenders while driving. DO NOT BUY THIS! These bars are terrible. They've only been on my jeep 9 days and already so loose that the hood is bouncing and making noises. It has about 1/2 inch of play from the belts stretching so much. This is the epitome of "you get what you pay for", spend the extra money on OE or highly rated aftermarket…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • No
