These holders are very strong and have many comfortable holding styles, but the material they are made of has a plastic-like feel and isn't particularly grippy. They are suitable for small children and novice climbers, but lack grip for more serious climbing. While the grips feel disappointing, they appear to be very durable and stand up to repeated use, even outdoors. Good quality fittings. There are much nicer options for climbing holds, but that's a good price for kids and beginners.

These are very strong plastic holders. I really appreciate the fact that they have room for two bolts which keep them very secure on the wall and also prevent the handles from rotating which is a common climbing problem. Only about $1.80 per toe, they are very affordable. the grips are a bit slippery being all plastic, but for a grip at this price point it's as good as you'd expect. We looked at several climbing holds from other brands. One was very similar to these but had elongated grooves for mounting bolts. I didn't like it because I feel the screw heads have a rather small contact area. Another brand only had a hole for a bolt and also a much smaller hole for a screw. I didn't like that plan either. I know that some woods have alternating bands of soft and hard texture that can cause the bit to wobble, but I'm pretty confident I can handle it and drill holes exactly…
