The lens produces excellent photos and videos.

Even though it is a manual lens, autofocus is easy to set manually and I took several photos with this lens and the photos were extremely clear and sharp. An excellent budget lens that works very well in low light conditions due to its large aperture.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expandable

Very sharp lens. I would be happy if I had paid five times as much!

This far exceeds my expectations. It is very hard. Focusing is smooth as silk. It's a bit heavy at 332g, and the depth of field scale isn't right. But it's still a goalkeeper. My Focus Assistant Sony A6400 makes manual focusing a pleasure. I liked it so much that I ordered several other focal lengths.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No instructions

Excellent value for money.

I use this lens for astrophotography. It gives a fairly sharp image if you focus very carefully. To that end, I used the Sony A6500's focus assist to get the best bang for your buck. Focusing at infinity is a fraction of a turn away from the focus limiter. At f/1.2, ISO 200, a reasonable exposure for the night sky is around 15 seconds. I took 20 ARW and JPG images with the EQ drive. I assembled the ARW images in Sequator for the final TIFF image. I "massaged" the TIFF file for the final result.

Great lens for the money

This lens is packaged very well and when you open it the weight tells you it must be well made. I have excellent clear images on the a6400. The focus ring is incredibly smooth, as is the aperture ring. The aperture ring is stepped, which I like. The clicks are very light and just enough to let you know you've changed the aperture setting. I also really like the metal screw on the lens cap. It came with a pretty decent protective neoprene sleeve, which is a nice touch. All in all you get a good…

Fantastic high quality prime lens

The TTartisan 50mm F1.2 is a really great lens. The sharp, crystal clear image I get with this lens is just superb. At the same time, this lens can give my photos an amazing, dreamlike quality. I love the 1.2 aperture, it helps me capture great low light images and isolate my subject with amazing accuracy. Overall I am very happy with this lens. It far exceeds my quality expectations and comes with lenses in this price range. The optical quality of this lens is as good if not better than…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Only available in black

Get it for the price only!

TTartisan 50 F1.2 meets my expectations in this price range. The build quality is quite good and the focus ring ensures smooth focusing. In the photos I used Sony a6500. At f1.4 the bokeh spheres look decent and the focus works very well. The last photo was taken at f5.6. For me, this shows the main weakness of the lens; It's not as sharp as more expensive lenses like the Sigma 56mm DC DN lens. However, despite the lack of sharpness, the TTartisan lens delivers a lot for your money. Being a…

Cheap and fast manual lens (for Sony users)

I have used it with Sony a6100 (aps-c) and Sony a7siii (full frame). I've been using manuals for a number of years as an inexpensive way to find quick fixes and also for a more fun recording experience. I've included some examples I've done with both and some raw footage from the A7siii so you can see what it's like. In fact, you can see more examples, including 4K examples, in my YouTube video comparison. This lens is bright, lets a lot of light through, produces a pleasing bokeh and has…
