I took change and should have just ordered thatch.

I took loose change and just had to order Rit brand fabric paint. I tried dyeing white fabric for less than a pound of fabric. (Instructions say use 1 full bottle for every 2 pounds of fabric.) So I used half. The fabric came out a very faded gray-blue color. I ended up using the entire bottle to try and fix the mess it made. There is nothing like the black color I wanted. I won't buy this again. I'll just stick with the rit. It may be more expensive, but it's worth it.

Pros
  • No need to mix or boil, just pour the liquid into the washer
Cons
  • New competitors have popped up

The only thing this dye worked on was the inside of my washing machine! I put a pair of light pink corduroy briefs in my car and followed the directions to the T (although I needed a magnifying glass to read them!). The pants ended up with uneven stains and blue-black goo all over, while the pants were still pink and soaked in black goo. I had to throw them away. It took me an hour to clean the device after doing the recommended whitening cycle. Wouldn't buy again.

Pros
  • Available in 8 ounce bottles of Liquid Dye
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

The stuff worked great! This was my first experience dyeing clothes and it turned out perfect. The yellow was nice and dark/light, I was worried it would be too light or streaky, but it came out perfect. The bottle says not to use a front loading machine but their website has product information for that particular dye as well as detailed step by step instructions on how to use the dye in a front loading machine. I will use this product again and definitely recommend this product.

Pros
  • Available in 8 oz liquid paint bottles
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
