Type of review

The hose fittings supplied are a different shape than those that came with this 2001 Nissan Frontier. I had to use the originals but they worked great with no leaks for almost two years. No need to remove the dash if you don't mind charging your air conditioner after installation. It saves a lot of time and labor, and I work with the air conditioner, so it wasn't difficult to remove the air conditioner evaporator to get to the heater core and recharge the air conditioner after assembly.

the plastic tube doesn't fit, but everything works ok

the two plastic tubes that come out don't fit my 2000 nissan frontier. I knew this from the reviews before purchasing but was hoping otherwise as the Amazon website showed it to be compatible with my truck. not so. The angles and the length of the plastic pipe are not correct, so it cannot be installed in the firewall. In the end I took a chance using an original from an old broken heater core block that I replaced and it worked. I was glad that at least the factory hose fits this device. I…

This core has no heater control valve

After spending four hours carefully removing my dash. Since it's 93 I didn't want to break anything. When I finally pulled out the heater core, I found that the new heater did not have a heater control valve. So I had to disconnect the mechanism from my heater control circuit. This is very important as I had to replace the heater core due to the aluminum spring leaking. Coolant started leaking into my cabin, but since the OEM had a valve, I was able to switch to AC and shut off the valve for…
