Great Radio: Radios

This mobile radio can use your existing MD-380 code plugin with minor modifications. So glad I bought it. Good signal from my base station antenna.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Works great, would still buy

The quality is better than expected. It took some time to program the DMR side of the radio as it was new to DMR. I would tell another radio amateur that it's worth it. I also bought an extended warranty. I would buy 73 again

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Almost never

Excellent mobile ham radio

I bought this ham radio and installed it in my country truck and it works fantastic. TYT's programming software takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's quick to program. It can also be a good "box" radio when using VHF/UHF (2m, 70cm).

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Available in white only

Randomly changes channels

I have four DMR radios. So I'm not new to DMR mode. This radio changes channels randomly. I start a QSO on a channel, another station answers, I only answer to find my answer went to another channel. The documentation is useless, in deaf English. avoid it

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • No power

Intermod Rejection and Programming Software Terrible

The radio has terrible IM or interference rejection. I lowered the noise-cancellation level, which helped some, but was still very responsive to interference, while others had no issues. Programming software is very confusing and cumbersome. Other reviewers have noted the same thing, but I'm good at coding so I wasn't worried. The software is very difficult to use.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Clarity

DMR radio tape recorder at an affordable price

The radio tape recorder works well in all respects except for the display. It is difficult to read even when sitting at the table. Barely legible in the car. Many UHF and VHF channels are available after you figure out the format of the control plug. Display aside, this radio is a good buy and works well. If you work in bright light like sunlight I would suggest seeing it in person before investing. The quality looks very good and it is very small which is nice.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

INCOMPATIBLE PARTS. NOT FUNCTIONAL.

Paid almost $250 to get a radio with RJ-45 mic and 6-pin jack mic. Sometimes you try to avoid cheap things to get a higher quality product. I have no explanation for this. Everything was in the original packaging, including the microphone itself (plastic case). Just totally, weirdly, wrong. Did someone throw the wrong microphone in the box? is this common (I just have no idea. Send it back and avoid the brand in the future). what else can you do

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Obsolete

Buy this if you love Chinese pain

It's hard to make a radio THAT IS BAD. Excellent work. Immediate problems include. Shutdowns or reboots during transfer, screen crashes, no DMR at all, no support, terrible software and worst of all, the manual is written without proper English sentences. The words mean literally nothing. Online help is no better. TYT is another Chinese scam. The TYT website blocks VPNs, forcing you to track down their software or a PDF with a completely useless manual.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Functional but disappointing and disappointing.

Update 20th August 2019: I now have a working radio after finding another issue with the documentation I found with the radio and the information uploaded. Two methods, 'manual' and 'software', are presented to tune the frequency range of the radio and they are presented as 'tuning options'. It turns out that's not the case; They seem to solve separate problems in the radio, and OBEs are needed. You can use the software to tune the VHF band to 136-174MHz and then read the settings and confirm…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
