The top of the pants is elasticated (no loops) so it should fit a range of sizes and stretch for a larger child. These pants for my son are so big that they don't fit and while he's not huge he's not too skinny either. I have a feeling they designed them for husky sized kids or forgot that stretch pants have to be a little smaller at the waist than "standard size" to stay up.
