I was annoyed at first when I opened the package and there were no instructions. I bought this for my 78 year old mother to use a used Vizio TV I gave her. I was very happy that I just had to put the batteries in and everything was fine! No programming required no matter what TV model etc. I made sure my TV model was listed on the website before purchasing. Conclusion: This was a great purchase!
