I base my 5 star rating on my brief demo of the product out of the box. I haven't used it extensively, but I feel like I have a good idea of how it's going to work. The reason I bought this particular portable tripod is the rotating phone holder (iPhone 7+ fits easily) which allows you to take both horizontal and vertical photos. One concern was the heaviness of the top. I successfully placed the phone on a tripod, rotated the phone holder to allow for vertical photos, and made sure it didn't…

When you expect a water balloon to behave like a baseball.

you will be disappointed. This tripod and remote control combo is what it is, and it's pretty damn perfect for it! Worth the money just for the remote control alone. It doesn't look like it would be suitable for skydiving, for example, but it's perfect for static shots on a tabletop or on the sidewalk! My goal is to use this for social media posts while running/cooking and it's working well so far. The only thing that bothers me is that you have to deform the tripod into an as yet unknown shape
