Small, cheap cable locks are so easy to cut that they don't protect the bike. And large metal U-shaped ones are much more difficult to carry with you. This is a good option in the middle. Thick and durable, and it's hard for someone to just walk by and cut it open without being noticed, but it's still pretty easy to carry on its own without carrying a heavy, chunky shape.

I had a little argument with my wife about how strong this chain lock would be. She expected the connection to be tenuous, and I was a little more optimistic. What's the worst that can happen? Send back? No problem. When it arrived we were both surprised at how heavy it was. I bought this for two of our 50cc scooters and it wraps well around both front wheels when sitting side by side. After replacing the broken lock, the new one works fine. Just pay attention to the combination you choose. There's no secret key or pin to help you release the toggle switch once you've set the combination. To reset it you need to be able to open it. Which is good for security. Not so good for the forgetful. I like that the chain is long enough to secure the frame but not too long to wrap around the handlebars.

The lock works well and is very easy to use. I like nice big tumblers that make dialing easier instead of some locks with small tumblers. And it works flawlessly. good length My only complaint is that it makes a rattling noise. So when you're going over a bump or on a bumpy road, it's a little annoying. I almost sent it back because of this. But then I started putting it in panniers that I attached to the rack so now I don't hear it while riding. Good value for money.
