Good value for an advanced camera system

I looked at a few and picked this one for the price and it seemed to have all the features I needed. The security camera installation went smoothly, but it took me a little time to set it up. My only concern is whether the plastic case will hold up in the Texas heat and sun and for how long, but time will tell. The signal was great once everything was lined up, but I only connected a 720p camera at the moment. The UI isn't bad I'd say, although it also depends on what you intend to use it for.

Set up a little over an hour with no problems.

I have two houses on the same street that have limited views of each other. My only real problem setting up a point-to-point internet connection between my two houses on the same street with this product was reading the manual. Since there are trees in the way I wasn't sure how much they would affect the connection but so far it seems to be working fine. I have a second WiFi router set up in another house on a different subnet than the main house and as long as the dual connection is up it…

It just works, don't overdo it! Skip the web interface!

Take The BK Man/JeffChicago's Advice Imagine if it were an invisible ethernet cable. I bought a kit to connect Wi-Fi to my brother's barn which is 77 yards from his house according to his golf range finder. Wow, these things work great for the price! Don't worry about instructions. The only supplement I have to BK Man's information is that the transmitter antenna is set to B and the receiver antenna is set to A. (Thanks JeffChicago). Also, I set up a wireless router that I had. as an access…

  • Lots of Stuff

Purchased CPE450 Wireless Internet Bridge between two houses across the street (180 feet). The primary Internet service at home was relatively weak (100 Mbit/s download, 6 Mbit/s download). The main and secondary lintels are mounted on the inside of the windows (with Velcro) in line with each other. The primary bridge connects directly to the router and the secondary to the Asus extender to create WiFi. The Wi-Fi signal strength of the second home was measured in the same way as the main home…

I'm not an IT guy at all. I know a few things when it comes to wifi/routers and how to set them up. I have another PTP that works but it doesn't signal either. It was easy to set up as the instructions were clear and easy to follow. They even had a video to follow. The instructions for this is hard to read because it's very small and you need a magnifying glass, it was so annoying and useless. Then I noticed a video on the seller's page (there should be a link to watch on YouTube), the video…

Terrible leadership / difficult at first / STRONG connection.

Full Disclosure: I am a CCNA IT Manager (Cisco Certified) with networking experience. Yes, I had problems with it at first. I bought this unit to broadcast the network about 100/150 feet to my shed. Why? The manual, the stickers on the back of the devices, and even the advertisements on the Revain listing are written by someone who 1) doesn't understand the internet very well and/or 2) doesn't speak English very well. The web interface is a bit confusing and could be improved a bit. HOWEVER…

  • I am concerned about this

Thanks to the other reviewers I didn't even bother to read the instructions as I already remembered what other users have said about installing these devices. This setup is a simple point-to-point bridge. I didn't go into the interface at all as I was planning on running an ethernet cable to the building and wireless access point inside after these devices were installed. my router on the base side and the access point on the receiver side). I have labeled each Ethernet cable as such. I set the

Pros
  • Great price

  • Big and bulky

Okay, I attached mine to a 1.5 inch pole and then to a weatherproof box that was bolted to the wall of my house and RV garage. Installation instructions for transmitting a signal from one point to another. I needed wifi in my RV garage which is about 50 meters from my house. I was only getting 1 bar (if any) from my home wifi so I bought these. How the one in the garage will survive the summer in Idaho is unknown. It faces south, so it gets very hot. A few things to note that the instructions…
