Got this for my MacBook Pro and used the Thunderbolt 2.0 port to connect an external monitor. I tried two other products and had to return them because the resolution was poor or just didn't work. Overall this product works and there is no loss of resolution. I only gave it 4 stars as the material wasn't the best, but to be honest the other adapter (from Apple) was $70 plus tax. This is a good inexpensive solution to connect your MacBook to an additional monitor.

I bought this unit in 2015 to take to customer sites and use at home. I like to always have all the options available to connect to any display style I might need on client sites for presentations. I have used it on many trips and it has never let me down. I also use the device every day on my laptop at home and when I travel it is always with me.
