I just bought a new iMac but wanted to add a second display. I also have a small 720p VGA display and a 23-inch 1080p display with HDMI. At first I wanted to buy two different cables just in case I wanted to connect one of the displays to my new car. But then I saw this adapter that allowed me to connect any of my monitors to my iMac via Thunderbolt. And it costs as much as one of these cables would cost! It was easy for me that way. The cable makes a well-made, durable and elegant impression. It comes with gold plated connectors. It connects easily and securely to a VGA or HDMI cable which means I can now use my iMac with any type of monitor and it works great with my Mac as soon as I plug it in with no issues. I've only had this adapter for a few days, but I think it's pretty perfect. Too bad it doesn't support 4K, but to be honest I don't think I'll be spending a lot of money on a 4K display any time soon, so I don't really care. Just note that it has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. Overall I am very satisfied with this device.
