Lemon. DO NOT BUY. see hard drive accessories

The LED stays on for 5 seconds and then starts flashing (behavior not described in the one-page document). The computer sees the device over USB but never sees media. The same M.2 card works fine in another case. Useless device. DO NOT BUY.

The heat dissipation was not very good.

If you don't intend to use this for a short time, this device heats up quickly. With a short connection, you can transfer smaller files, and then the disconnection will work. I couldn't transfer large videos with it because it took too long and got so hot I couldn't touch it.

Poor heat dissipation

When transferring data at full speed (10Gbps), you cannot sustain that speed for more than 5-10 minutes before the drive and case heat up and the chokes. At this point, the case is hot enough that you don't want to touch it. I wouldn't recommend if you're moving more than 50-100GB at a time.

Not worth it - keep going

I don't like giving reviews like this, but it didn't work out. The best part is that it fits my 1TB XPG drive with a heatsink (suitable for a gaming laptop, heatsink won't fit on a laptop due to obvious space issues). So I used this device to transfer data at 40Mbps, oh cool my WD Spinning Rust supports 104Mbps. abominable! If the laptop goes to sleep when coming back, the USB will fail and not be able to see the drive (device error, etc.). Hooray! You have to disconnect and it gets hot. Just…

The case worked great to mount my new NVMe and clone my system drive.

I used this to install a new 2TB NVMe and clone my current 1TB laptop system drive. The new drive works fine in the laptop. It's easy to use. The only minor catch is that there is a ledge that attaches the drive to the case. You must place the disc in the slot on the edge before pushing in to secure and then twist slightly to lock. First I put the disc in and pressed down and then tried to insert the tab and rotate it. It doesn't work and you can't put the cap on until it's properly seated…

Difficult to Install Drive, Heat Issues

As the reviews say, this thing will overheat if you use it for an extended period of time. Also, it's quite difficult to assemble the drive yourself, and the plastic pin they use to attach the drive requires a great deal of dexterity, not to mention the pin design might not match the drive you're using, ever after how the chips are located on the disk.
