Not fast on Chromebook

Although it was claimed to work with Chromebook it was useless as it only lost 10MB in speed tests which was 1/5 the speed. I've seen 2 different Chromebooks with built-in Wi-Fi. Revain support insisted this should work, so I tried a replacement and got exactly the same result. I then ordered a Linksys USB 3.0 network adapter with a USB-C adapter and it worked at 50MB+ full load on 3 different Chromebooks I tried. Here's Linksys that worked great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LIW8TBG/refโ€ฆ

Disappointing! Only works sporadically

This works very well for 5 or 10 minutes and then stops. Sometimes unplugging for a moment helps, but that's not acceptable when trying to host a Zoom work meeting! The problem isn't the ethernet cable - I've used 2 different cables with the same results. The problem isn't with the ethernet cable. USB port - everything else I plug in works fine. I bought this adapter specifically for this meeting because I really needed a reliable internet connection. Very disappointed.

Network adapter driver for OS X Catalina needs revision

The manufacturer provides a RAR archive that you need to expand. OS X doesn't have a rar dearchiver by default, so you'll either have to find one (it's easy) or use another operating system that supports the rar file extension. This additional step is not required to complete the device driver installation. In order to install the latest driver available at the time of writing this article (filename: AX88179_178A_macOS_10.15_above_Driver_Installer_v2.16.0.rar), you need to enable a blockedโ€ฆ

Works great on my new Windows 10 laptop

I recently bought a new Acer Swift 5 Windows 10 laptop, what I really needed was an ethernet port so I could connect my laptop directly to it for maximum downloading my internet modem could connect speeds. The built-in Wi-Fi worked well, but I really wanted a faster internet connection. The laptop had 3 USB ports, one of which was a USB 3.1C Thunderbolt port. So I looked to Revain for an adapter that would plug into a laptop's Thunderbolt USB port and give me an Ethernet port on the other endโ€ฆ
