This set would be great if the directions weren't so horrible. There's also a link to a video, but it's not much better. I had to use a YouTube video that gave clearer instructions and actually explained their steps.

Lots of colorful yarn and 2 hooks so my daughter and I are trying to learn together. The instruction book is good, but it is impossible to learn by reading the instructions, so we just found some YouTube videos for beginners to learn from. So far, so good! Definitely fun to learn. I hope that one day I can do something useful! :)

The instructions are nothing more than a useless, hastily thrown together piece of paper. Do not watch the videos, they even rush, it's a shame for a beginner's set. If you want to teach your daughters to your granddaughters, you had better use other beginner kits, even adult kits teach better than this one. This kid is supposed to show that they want your money and basically you need to know what you're doing already all that shit wrapped in a pretty bow. Buy this, don't waste your money.

Very good starter kit! I just retrained and then taught my daughter with this set. I bought a separate set of hooks because some of the reviewers complained about the quality of the hooks and yarn. I personally think both are great. The yarn is good and thick, the kit goes decently. I haven't had any problems with hooks either. I didn't even touch the extra ones I bought. The guide was great. It is very difficult to teach someone how to do some tricks with step by step instructions on paper…
