does not connect best in transmission

try to get them working 2 hours finally threw a full piece of garbage, have not read the latest reviews, they say the same thing

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Will do

Very good for transmission

Very easy to install, very durable. That's a bit overkill for my storm door, I could probably get something half as strong. But it's on, installed and will probably outlive my door.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Good and reliable chains and sprockets

The chain is pretty basic. One end to the door frame and one end to the storm door. Measure a little at 90 degrees and install it. An extra link attached to the chain will help shorten the length. Just loop it on links to shorten it.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Does the job with a few modifications

Seems strong enough to hold the door open when the wind catches it. Included screws that were too long for a steel storm door and would have gone through the front of the door. Also, there is no light spring to prevent the security spring from hanging down at eye level in the middle of the door.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons

breaks easily: chains and sprockets

This emergency chain broke after about 1 month of use. The chain and attachments are fine, the problem is in the springs. I have a heavy glass storm door that is blown away by the wind. Both springs broke at different times because they could not withstand the force of opening the door. They seem to use the same springs as the regular rescue chain, but they use two of them.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Sturdy door chain

I put a heavy security net on the back door to keep burglars out. I have noticed that when the wind blows it will crush my light by this door. When I checked here at Revain, I found this door chain that has four screws on each end, not two. Reading other reviews I saw that the bolts that come with the kit aren't the best, but the chain is good. I had to shorten it as it was too long, but it's a great door chain. I used my own screws. It costs money.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

High quality, assembly is not bad

I have an industrial steel door so I used other screws but assembly is pretty easy. Make sure the door bracket is set low enough not to interfere with the door seal when the door is closed. I drew a line through the middle of the chain and used equal lengths of each end of the door frame and the door with the door open as far as I wanted it to open. Each installation will be slightly different, just make sure you erase everything. Love the dual springs, chain size and chain guard. I liked it so

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Volume

I just installed this chain on my six foot wide, heavy barn door.

Just fitted this chain to my six foot wide heavy barn door. There are no instructions, but if you know how to use a drill and screwdriver, it's not rocket surgery. Shortening the chain isn't an easy task if you've never done it before, but there are tons of videos on YouTube showing how to do it and it's not hard at all. After shortening, the extra links can be cut off if you don't want them hanging from the bracket. The only real mystery is what the heck that included split link is for. Onlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very quick delivery
Cons
  • Good but not great
