My 8 year old needed a new umbrella for school and it works great!

The umbrella is compact so you can easily take it to school and put it in the front pocket of your backpack. Although he hasn't had to use it yet (of course it's not going to rain when we get the umbrella), he was able to open and close it on his own with no problem.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad

Buttons to open and close, easy to use

I couldn't have gotten this umbrella at a better time. It was an attack all day today. First of all, this umbrella comes with its own sleeve to keep it dry and not tear. As soon as I unzipped it, pressed the top button, it opened completely by itself. Fast and easy. To close it, push the bottom button and it closes, then push the top down, wrap the attached cord around it and snap it closed. So easy to use and easy to pack away and take with you just in case.

Snapped Like A Twig

That's not the point; I've used mine about 3 or 4 times and on the fourth time the stem broke in HALF and it refused to open and stay open in the middle of a thunderstorm. i got wet It's huge, but if it can't withstand the most normal wind, it's not worth the extra money spent to buy it. In comparison, I bought an umbrella from Walgreens and had it for a few months before switching to this one because it offers more coverage. Now I'm digging up this Walgreens umbrella because it's a lot safer.

Not so good for luggage and travel essentials

I like the umbrella open although it wobbles a bit in heavy rain. It's not exactly automatic opening and closing. It opens fully automatically, but it's good if it closes semi-automatically. It doesn't fold back, it just folded the top and you have to push it very hard into the closed and locked position yourself. Trying to get this umbrella back to the fully closed position takes some strength, and if you're lucky you won't lose a chunk of your arm in the process. The part of the handle you…

No windbreak

I bought this umbrella because it was larger and claimed to be windproof compared to my old one. the biggest joke The first reasonably decent gust of wind this umbrella encountered would instantly flip it over and bend the shaft over the handle. After struggling to be flipped, Shit hit the fan. The glider could no longer be retracted (because the base was now bent a good 30 degrees). Once I managed to straighten the shaft it still wouldn't retract unless pushed hard. But once I managed to…
