I bought these for their intended purpose - to balance picture frames. You remove the double-sided tape attached to the plastic and stick it to the frame, the other side being a nail. that goes into the wall. The problem is that the nail is attached to a fairly thick piece of clear plastic, leaving your paintings sticking out of the wall 1/4 inch or more (depending on the model you buy). Interestingly, people who rated it low didn't read the description, which says you do NOT need to hang things on it, just line up the hanging pictures. Either way, the round piece will stick to the frame and fairly thick nails will be driven into the wall once you're sure the picture is hanging straight. Very easy to use. It makes 2 holes in the wall but putty will fix that if you move the painting. It's better than correcting every time the door closes! The large ones were perfect for my 16x20

I've never heard of this in my life, although I've hung pictures on walls for years. They work great! The small level included in this set is great too. I'm just buying a second set to finish my recordings. CONS: - The big ones are damn BIG. I put one on an 11 x 17 frame and due to the thickness of 1 the corner of the frame sticks out of the wall more than the rest.
