Description of ๐Ÿงช Optimized Geiger Counter Test by United Nuclear

Ideal for testing all sorts of radiation detection equipment, our inexpensive Geiger Counter Test Sample is handy, easy to use, and safe. It consists of a card with a small radioactive source attached to the back. The card is enclosed in 4 mil plastic making it waterproof and durable. The card does not need to be removed from the plastic enclosure to use. Simply place your radiation detection instrument (or its probe) on the rear of the card and you will instantly know if your Geiger counter is operating. The Geiger Counter Test Sample provides low-level Gamma & Beta radiation which is easily picked up by common radiation detectors. Works with all standard Geiger counters. Please note: The color on the back of the test cards can change depending on the material being used. Do not worry you will still experience the same effects/results regardless of the material color.

It's actually radioactive.

I tested it with Mazur PRM-9000. I placed the card on the radiation monitor. I ran a 1 minute quick average test "three times" and found: ยตSv/h 95.00 mR/h 8.63 ppm 31,933 No detection in 3 feet of "safe zone". Plastic. Beautifully packaged, you don't have to worry about dust flying off and contaminating the meter, or worse, inhaling it. Handle and store with care as it is radioactive which is why you bought it in the first place.

Pros
  • Radiation Protection Consumables
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Works as advertised!

I got a geiger counter and wanted to test it and it worked very well! The highest CPM I could find at home was 120 cpm (warmed up, actively charged 18650 batteries from any manufacturer do this for some weird reason oO), but it was around 3500 (21.5 uSv/h)! But it falls on the background about 3cm from the source, so while it gives very tangible readings on sensitive modern Geiger counters, it's also fairly safe - it's not something to keep in your wallet or under your pillow, but otherwise itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Doubt

That's exactly what I wanted.

On the map is just enough (only) for my meter to become very active when within 300mm (1ft) of the pipe. I won't keep it in my hat band but I have no problems with it. I have a couple of geiger tube devices that I wanted to see to make something interesting. My latest (Arduino based) might just have been random clicking sounds and I never would have known. Now I know for sure it works. I don't live very close to nuclear weapons, but if I do. My other booth is an old surplus of a civil defenseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hazardous Materials Handling
Cons
  • Slightly Torn
