I never managed to bake perfectly soft and flat chocolate chip cookies until I got this thing. I would follow the recipe, but my cookies always ended up looking like giant mountains with a dark bottom. It wasn't until I bit the bullet and bought this thermometer that I found out that my oven was down to about 25 degrees.

The font is so tiny I have to take out my reading glasses and practically kneel on the floor which is hard on my back. Also, it seems more accurate than the one it replaced, so I'm very happy with that. From 300° to 400° the overprint is red, so useful, but it's still hard to see exactly what temperature.

Inexpensive but very important accessory for the oven, especially when the oven only shows the desired temperature and not the actual temperature. I used this point to determine why baking in the oven is not working properly. The oven didn't heat up, so it didn't hold the temperature. With this device and the replacement of the temperature sensor, the oven now works without any problems.

I bought this because I need an extended low range thermometer. Unfortunately this is very imprecise. If my oven temp is 350 as measured by an infrared thermometer, an oven, and two other thermometers that were all within 5 degrees, this thing reads about 280 degrees. I even gave it 30 minutes to catch up if it was a slow device. Garbage. Don't buy this.

I've recently started cooking a lot and was wondering if my oven is heating up to the set temperature. I thought about it for a while so I bought this item. I wish I had done this long ago because my oven isn't heating up properly in this new location. With this thermometer I can set my oven to the right temperature and be sure of it.
