Bought for my 2002 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8. The movement part is made of plastic which will degrade and fall apart. The fit and finish of this piece is excellent. Factory part numbers and markings are molded in, it looks exactly like the original except for the material. Comes with all gaskets, you just need to reuse the factory bolts and a new thermostat. A Motorcraft thermostat is recommended as it has a ball check valve on the flow bypass and some aftermarkets do not have this feature.

I bought this to replace the original lower plastic thermostat housing on my 2001 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8. Why this metal version wasn't used in the assembly of the car I'll never know, unless they wanted it to wear out and you have to buy another one of them and they can make a profit. Worked great! I used this as an upgrade part for my Lincoln LS and am very impressed with the product. The stock parts are made of composite plastic and after a few hundred thousand miles the plastic becomes brittle and in my case breaks leaving you on the side of the road.
