Comes flat and hard. Arrived fairly quickly with free shipping. The surface is a bit shiny, but that's ok. I prefer matte as I'm shooting finished models and this finish is a bit glaring. The product itself is excellent. Note that I spilled almost a full bottle of Tamiya Panel Liner on the black side of the mat and wiped it off quickly and easily. The ink stains were not absorbed and the white grid lines were not affected at all. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy with this purchase.

It has improved my life so much. My old cutting mat didn't have numbers at the top or bottom, which meant when measuring lines it was always a guessing game trying to figure out where you were on the other side. Disgusting. This one completely solves this problem, plus I didn't even realize how much it complicates life until I tried another method. This one is also a lot thicker and I found I really like the black and white side. . The contrast is much easier to read, much easier on the eyes. I

Love the size of this mat and the fact that it's white for building my models. It protects most of my desktop and the white color makes it easier to see the small details on it. Unfortunately, making plastic models requires the use of various chemicals such as paints, solvents, and glue.
