🔑 Chevy Cobalt Malibu/Buick Allure Lacrosse/Pontiac G5 G6 Grand Prix Solstice/Saturn Aura Sky Key Fob Remote (Part # 15252034) - Set of 2 Review

For $80-100 to program in a Chevy I just replaced the old electrics with a new case and keypad and they work like new! A NOTICE. Make sure that the positive battery terminal is not separated from the solder joints. One of mine was and I just re-soldered it, works great (see video on YOUTUBE!)

My son 08 Malibu needed a key fob, I ordered these and started programming them, they programmed perfectly with no problems btw. You need a car scanner to program the remotes for this car, key fobs are fine, this is a car that doesn't give you DIY access, luckily I'm a professional mechanic and I have all these fancy toys.

The product description says "Complete electronic assembly with battery". not mine. Just the outer case and buttons. Luckily I still had the internal chip from my previous one and just plugged it into this one. Save your money, buy one from the Batteries Plus store where you get what you pay for and they will program it for you too.

Works great but 09 Cobalt will require a scanner to program them. I'm an automotive technician so this wasn't a problem and after 3 minutes they both work great. Highly recommend replacing the cheap battery they came up with. There was one key fob that lasted a couple of weeks and the battery died. Replace it with a good battery and you're good.

I bought these for my 2005 Pontiac G6 and they are definitely a good buy. But I work at a GM dealership and one of the GM trained technicians couldn't get the programmer remotes. I believe since he does just that on a daily basis and gets paid for it, you can eliminate user error that leaves faulty hardware, and that's exactly what it is. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, pay a little more for something you don't have to throw in the trash.

This part may or may not work...but I bought it because the seller promised programming support on their free website...once I received the product and on top of that was ready to install, i got instructions on the website that the remote CANNOT be programmed... A TOTAL waste of $$ now i have to take the car to the dealer and pay for programming....DO NOT BUY, if you are looking for a cheaper dealer alternative.

Both remotes for my Malibu turned out to be faulty - one unlocked my car but didn't lock it and the other locked but didn't unlock it. When I got these new ones, instead of paying a ridiculous fee to program them, I just threw away the new "sluggish" ones and replaced them with the original innards of my faulty remotes. BINGO - two perfectly working consoles! I saved a lot doing this and couldn't be happier with the result.

Follow your intuition and don't buy electronics for your car. Two remotes were included with this purchase and neither could be programmed at a Chevrolet dealership. The dealer double checked the fuses and wiring when programming and in the end it turned out that there were no problems with the fuses and wiring, instead the remote controls didn't work, yes the batteries were installed, they just DO NOT work! Definitely something to remember.
