I bought this for a new MacBook Pro 16 (2019) and didn't want to use multiple dongles (thanks Apple!). I ran a speed test using iperf3 on my old MBP (2013) which *has* an ethernet port (thanks Apple!) and an old direct-connected computer at 870Mbps. Using a Mokin adapter on a new MBP ( 2019) - 891Mbps. After a few hours of research, the problem I was having was related to my drivers. I removed the Intel driver for my laptop, which didn't really help much.
