This is an industrial USB to RS232/485/TTL isolated converter with original FT232RL inside. It features embedded protection circuits such as power isolation ADI magnetical isolation and TVS diode etc. What's more the USB TO RS232/485/TTL comes with an aluminium alloy enclosure make it solid and durable to work. The USB TO RS232/485/TTL is very easy to use fully automatic transceiving without delay. Due to its fast communication stability reliability and safety it is an ideal choice for industrial control equipments and/or applications with high communication requirement. Fully automatic transceiver circuit with no delay ensures the USB port communicates with different interfaces fastly and stably without interfering each other. Onboard unibody power supply isolation provides stable isolated voltage needs no extra power supply for the isolated terminal. High quality USB-B and RS232 connectors smoothly plug/pull.

Better than the usual standard USB to serial converter

For those wondering what you are getting here, see the attached photos of the internal parts. It's better made than most regular no-name USB to serial converters I've seen, decent leak-free except for the bit at the very end where the Waveshare logo is, the two passive ones above the USB port a little close to the RS232 connector, but between it and the (grounded) screws have a plastic plug. The two connecting components are an isolated (1kV) Mornsun 80505 DC/DC converter and an ADUM1411…

232 works, no drivers to support 485&ttl? TBD

I need support to send a driver so I can use ttl and rs485. I can only access RS232. Unacceptable. I've contacted support multiple times. This is a simple driver please. 232 I don't care. I need others!

Equipped with ground isolation function, USB self-powered and interface combination

Amazing that you can get real isolation for this price. this. avoids problems with ground loops/ground level differences between devices. I opened the case and looked at the board, it has a DC isolator for power supplies as well as the expected isolation barrier for signals. The board had a very noticeable cut/split groove where the insulation goes from the USB side to the serial connector side. (The RS-232/RS-485 serial ports aren't isolated from each other, but that's ok since only one of…

Doesn't work well on Mojave.

This stopped working in Mac OS X Mojave. First, the driver was always dodgy and unreliable. I recommend the version of Keypan that worked right after installing the driver.
