Good Component: Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Now I have 3 of these and they are great. This is a great way to expand or upgrade an old computer. This product is very reliable and works well

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
  • Damaged

Here is an overview of a product that you already know.

Worked as expected, had an old PC and wanted to turn it into a NAS. I did exactly that, my native worked without any additional software. I have no idea what "transparency" and "stretching" have to do with it, but surely any of it was safe? Cables will stretch to the length they are designed for and their stiffness is very limited.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Only available in black

For Windows 98 you need to flash the BIOS

This card comes with a RAID BIOS, but to use it as a standard hard disk controller card for a Windows 98 PC you need to set the BIOS to " Base" BIOS. Vogons.com has instructions on how to do this. After that, you need to find a non-RAID driver for it. Once I did that, the read/write speeds were faster than the Promise Ultra 100 TX2 (combined with the SATA IDE adapter) I was using. I'm using this with an old Asus TXP4 and a 120GB Team Group SSD.

Pros
  • SATA cable
Cons
  • Some little things
