The light works very well. It was like a good old horror movie. I turned off the light and the wall (cat) flooded it like crazy. And you could see it so clearly, best in the dark, but it actually works in low light. You can see and remove the stain. Then check again. Highly recommended light!

Was a bit wary of negative reviews. However, one said it doesn't work out of the box. I wonder if the connection blocker has been removed from the batteries! Anyway, even in low light, this light bounced off smudges like a champ! Do not worry. Now it will take a little effort to remove the stains!

Works great. The cat's urine shows up as light-colored. I listened to the reviews of another one I bought. I find the brightness too high, you couldn't really see anything. This will show every little stain on your carpet except cat pee, but pet pee stains are very easy to spot. They are round with smooth edges. I'm glad I bought this. Now wish me luck getting the pee out.

We definitely put this light to good use when checking for pet stains on carpets after adopting a second kitten who is easily stressed. It hasn't broken and the bulb is as bright as day one. It's only really useful at night or in a very dark room, which is to be expected. I'm taking off a star because I think it could be a little brighter. If you're torn between this and something prettier or more expensive, get this one. It's simple, durable, and gets the job done with no frills.

One of our cats had a couple of accidents on the basement carpet so we bought this to be able to identify and clean her. It worked great for that, but we didn't think about how convenient it would be if we were to travel during Covid and see how well the hotel rooms are cleaned.
