6 " diameter cup issues

This review is for the 6" cup version. There are some major design issues with this version. The hole size is 5/16"-18, which would be nice and sturdy at the rated weight of roughly 110lbs, but you can only get a 5/16 bolt 2-3 threads deep (less than 1/4") into the hole. The hole rests directly above the plastic housing of the suction pump, so over tightening will result in a cracked pump housing. The hole threading stops well short of the pump housing, probably to prevent the above mentioned…

Used this item to replace suction cups on my wakeshaper to get a better surf wake on a boat

I bought a wakeshaper to get a better surfing wake on my 07 supra 22ssv. It was a rosewell wakeshaper and when I bought it I tried it out several times. Never would stick for longer than 4 or 5 min. constantly popped off during runs or at the start. I put it away for years. My father in law recently looked at it and told me to replace the suctions. I started looking and came across these. I attached them on the same plates that are already on the shaper. These things stick and don't come off! I

They never let go! good for me

I needed a way to attach some things to the exterior of my RV for a cross-country trip and didn't want to drill into the body. These babies worked great - I attached them and they stayed attached for about 2 months so far. I used them in 2 places: 1) as supplemental support for a bumper-mounted scooter rack on the back of the RV and 2) to hold a large, soft-sided luggage bag to the top of the RV. the suction and pump mechanism or solid construction and worked well, however the brass threads pulled out of the plastic body with about 20lbs loaded

I was and still amazed about the suction force and the time it can hold things this cups have.I am using them to hold things against glass and polished concrete.

Super stable and sturdy!

We user this to hold a sensor setup on top of a moving vehicle and it worked perfectly for many hours at highway speeds! That's my review.

Like others have posted, the spring mechanism breaks and no longer can apply suction. Got the larger option and it was overkill for inside a car. Would consider other options.

Compare to Woods for my opinion

OK, not sure if its been done yet, but if you're like me you're wondering about how these compare to Woods, so here is my comparison. These are not bad, work well, seem to be made OK. The problem is the threads, I'm not sure what they are, but nothing really fits and has to be forced in there. I tried 5/16 coarse and fine and M8x1.25 and nothing went on easy and had to be forced, which is not cool. I'm not worried as I will just rethread which will be easy. Woods are much more clean and instill

This Sucks(In a good way)

I'm going to use this to mount a TV to the side of my Camper on occasion. The screw hole on the back will accept the simple TV mount I also purchased.

So far so good on my review.

Nice little sucker. Worked well,pulled good vacuum. Using it for camera mount on glass and held camera with no problem. Like all suction cups if the surface has irregularities that allow air to leak past the seal, it will not hold for long. This one is no different. Have not had long so no determination as to how long rubber suction cup will last.

Spring is NOT rustproof!

Spring is NOT rustproof! bought a pair 6 months ago and now one failed. Took out the plunger and the spring is corroded and there is brown sludge inside.

Not 5/16 " 18 good for me

Seems like a fairly well built suction cup and certainly isn't cheap, but I can't rate any higher since it isn't compatible with the screw size it claims it is. Needed for a trip and now I have to go to my machine shop and hopefully rethread these.
