Does what it says on the tin, makes it easy to apply large tubes of silicone sealant. controlled. . . . The price seems a little high considering how easy it is, but I've wanted to buy it for a long time.

Required for use with Toyota FIPG. Enables an even, stable bead of adhesive to be applied. I used it to mold a gasket on a Lexus transmission pan and it worked flawlessly. It still requires a firm grip and I had to rest 2-3 times putting the caterpillar on, but it's much better than the disposable tool that came with the FIPG. I might try heating the tube in a hot water bath next time to make the process easier.

The most annoying thing about using the shim has always been hand cramps and muffled swearing when trying to get an even bead. especially when the tube was half empty. This has to be one of the most useful tools I've ever bought. Just buy something and never look back. It only paid for itself in cushioning material that would otherwise be thrown away once the tube went down. Stop dragging and buy!

I didn't even know something like this existed, let alone how badly I needed it. This tool will pull pretty much any drip out of any pipe. even works with toothpaste, albeit overkill. It also makes it very easy to apply good RTV beads to the sealing surfaces, you can apply good, constant and even pressure all around the part to be sealed.
