Printer wanted for about 6 months. I don't print very often (maybe 100 pages or so a year) and just can't justify spending $150 on a new machine + ink/toner. I have emailed ValueToner about this. I bought a set (1 black, 1 color) HP PSC cartridges just to install them and start my project (which has now expired) when the paper ran out of the printer. It was terrible! The ink was smudged, it was "bleeding", colors weren't what they were supposed to be, etc. As soon as I emailed them, I received an email saying I was within 48 hours would hear from someone. HP should have some sort of proprietary recognition of only its own cartridges. My printer is very old - only for home use so it's ok. but I was upset that a NEW printer costs about the same as HP cartridges. I tried them for $12 and it's a waste of money. Updating my original review below: These cartridges are of poor quality. They work fine at first, but become completely unusable after a very short time. Don't waste money. After the initial setup and test print, everything looked fine. However, after just a month or two, the color cartridge was just printing washed out yellow for anything that wasn't black. I've always heard that we shouldn't use remanufactured cartridges in a printer. However, due to the cost of a new cartridge, I decided to take a chance. I just bought a used 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Van. It didn't have an owner's manual, and the dealer asked $75 for one. Found it online, 558 pages, printed it with a remanufactured cartridge, and the cartridge still prints other papers with deep blacks and deep colors.
