great product!: parts

After reading all the other reviews I expected these baffles to be difficult to install. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the fiberglass sheeting was completely wrapped in clear plastic rather than just held in place with a few pieces of tape as shown in the photos. Now they still fit snugly, but I didn't have to cut the fiberglass to install them. I took my mufflers off the bike to install them, I lightly greased the plastic wrap and installed with a twisting motion while pushing. So one

It is very important.

Installation was fairly easy, removed the V&H Twin Slash exhaust from my Scout, removed the stock baffle, put in the new ones, put the pipes back on the bike. A few tips: leave the manufacturer's plastic wrap on the dividers to make them easier to insert, spray the plastic well with WD-40 to make them easier to insert, and have a rubber mallet handy and a piece of wood handy , if you need a little convincing to put the divider in place one last time. All in all it took me about 30 minutes. And…

Sounds wonderful! Not as loud, but actually sounds better!

Honestly they should be stocked at V&H because the exhaust sounds a lot better. The faint rumble is still there at idle, but it doesn't shatter your eardrums, and when you step on the gas you feel it like everyone else. So in my opinion they are absolutely worth what I paid for. Neighbors are not so annoying when I leave early or come home late. From my normal sound - 1, and V & H without them - 10 on the sound level scale. That compares to about 7 with the baffles installed. Take extra wire…

Calm enough.

Vance & Hines say they only reduce the sound level by 3 or 4dB compared to the standard mufflers that come with mufflers, I'd say it's probably closer to 10dB. I was worried they wouldn't make him quiet enough, but he calmed him down a bit. On the freeway at a constant cruising speed, instead of pounding in my head, I only hear the wind and try to sleep at night after a long drive. For a person who suffers from tinnitus, for me they were much better than the original baffles. When you step on…

Awesome baffle for 3 " Double Slash Slip-Ons!

Bought to wear on my Vance and HInes double slash slippers. To get into the muffler body I needed about 5 inches of fiberglass mat cut them off then use clear tape and wrap the baffles very tightly to make installation easier. At first I didn't like how quiet they were but after a couple of long rides the tape burned through and the fiberglass was installed then the sound was perfect .At full throttle and higher revs it still sounds just as amazing as the baffle slipping. It just took away some…

give them some time They will fade louder in a good way

I rarely write reviews but I've spent hours deciding which exhaust to buy and thought I'd share it so I'm hoping someone will helps others. So I bought a Vance and Hines 3 inch slash slip for my new Heritage 114. They sounded good with the stock "Competition" mufflers, but a bit louder than I wanted. So I bought "quiet" deflectors. When I first installed it I was disappointed. You were too quiet! I pulled them out almost immediately, it was almost as quiet as stick! But I found a few comments…
