Titanium Tent Stakes

These L-shaped stakes work very well in loose or sandy soil. The L-shaped design helps them stay in place. They're light as hell too! Good product.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Expensive

Good tent pole for tents and shelters

These tent poles are good, but they're no lighter than good DAC poles. I weighed them, same 8g, but as they are titanium they should be stronger than the aluminum DAC rod and therefore take a lot more violence. Anyone looking for a weight advantage will not find it.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons

Very easy to fold up for tents and shelters

I bought a set of six to use with a hammock and tarp. Unfortunately I'll be on the lookout for something else because when I first used the stake, one of the two I was using buckled in the sand and topsoil mixture. The weight savings isn't worth a bet that doesn't benefit me.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Works, but there are better options

OK, but I went for the MSR Groundhog inserts. They are more durable. Also, I don't like it when the top bets are so sharp. They tend to bend when they're stoned. They work if the ground is soft enough. This is not my first choice for tent pegs.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Vargo is full of victories

They're not as reliable as some other stakes, but they're too tough for climbers and climbers. Even the touted MSR rates don't work very well in the snow. (I broke a few of them trying to get them deep enough to hold on to.) It's a worthy replacement for those snow rides. They are definitely no stronger than some of the MSR variants, but are much better at catching and act more like an anchor. You are small so check your size but more and more Vargo products impress me.

Pros
  • Quality construction

I was expecting them to be lighter since they are titanium.

I was expecting them to be lighter being titanium but they aren't. For the size of these titanium stakes you would think they would be. I have had many Titanium pegs from Snow Peak and Campmore but I keep losing them. One of their features is a red drawstring on the pull side, making it easier to spot when you take the tent down. But don't make that a reason to buy them as you can buy red laces and make your own. I gave 3 stars as they don't have a full waist.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
