Made in the USA and quality.

I love finding products like this hammer that are quality, American made products at a great price. Hope to see more of these products.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Functionality

Excellent American Hammer!

Well balanced, American made. You can't buy a better hammer than this unless you dream of another USA made hammer where the money you use to pay for the hammer goes towards feeding American workers. Thank you Vaughan for keeping Americans at work.

Pros
  • Hands-Free Operation
Cons
  • Vulgarity

This is my favorite hammer

Excellent hammer. First, it's made in the USA. It is very good. It feels good in the hand. The weight is significant. I love this hammer. This will most likely be the only Vaughan Hammer I will ever buy because this thing will last a lifetime - at least my life. But I will check other tools in this line. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Easily torn

Made in America, Vaughan has been using my whole life

I have only used wooden handled hammers to avoid 'carpenter's elbow'. Vaughan hammers are manufactured in Bushnell, Illinois. The workmanship is better than other hammers I've seen. Well balanced, excellent workmanship, solid connection between hammer head and handle. This is a great hammer for machine shops or machine work. I have about 15 Vaughan hammers and am very happy with each one.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • A few minor things

Disappointed with the quality

I loved this hammer it looked great good reviews made in America. I bought it to forge copper. Hammer indentations are an important part of the design. The first day I used it was great, but then I realized the hammer didn't look smooth anymore. I looked at the hammer and it looks like the outer layer on a round and flat surface. Very disappointing. It's still good for hammering a nail into a wall, but not for working with my brass/artwork.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Safety

US Made Deal

I bought this hammer on sale and can't believe the deal. For a slightly higher price than the equivalent HF hammer, you get a much better product. The hammer head is well made. Both heads are well polished. The entire head appears to be painted or epoxy coated to prevent rust. I expect it will wear out over time, but it hasn't started to peel and chip like I'm used to with cheap tools. The wooden stick is light and fits well in the hand. Speaking of the HF equivalent, its plastic handle weighs…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Slightly Torn

Great mallet at a great price.

This 16oz Ball Hammer from Vaughn is a great value. First off, it's made in good old USA, State A. I was surprised by the beautiful packaging it came in. I've ordered many other tools that are much more expensive and don't come in such a pretty box. The hickory handle is smooth, perfectly shaped, with no cracks. It seems to have a much lighter polish than other brands I've seen. This makes it easier to remove before I oil the pen. I think I'll use linseed oil. Dries longer but penetrates deeper

Pros
  • Tools & Household Items
Cons
  • Unreliable

Best available made in USA

I try to buy American whenever possible - assuming the quality is there. Recently I had to purchase and replace metalworking hammers - two different size ball studs, a cross hammer and a heavy hammer. (Sometimes they are also referred to as blacksmith's, locksmith's or machine hammers - in this context they all mean the same thing). I ordered an 8 ounce artisan in hopes it would match an antique hammer I had restored but in reality the quality was really lacking. Without disparaging other…
