Based on my observations, these gamepads are a great alternative to the more expensive official controllers. They work just as well and are much cheaper. The buttons are responsive and the overall build quality seems sturdy. However, they don't come with any instructions or packaging, so it can be a bit confusing at first.

I ordered this for my Retron 5 to play with my girlfriend. I was concerned about the number of negative reviews so I checked them carefully. At first, the controller plugged into the main slot didn't register the select button, so I had to use the second controller when I needed to go back to the main (retron) menu. But after troubleshooting it turned out to be a connection issue and after firmly plugging in the controller cables (and extension cables I bought separately) all the buttons worked

I bought these because my only original SNES controller finally stopped working about a month ago leaving me with an (admittedly high quality) aftermarket controller and myself not looking to spend a lot of money on controllers that I don't use more than a few times a week or so.
