The Shutterboss is great for time lapse series of blooming flowers, sunsets or the night sky. It can also be used without batteries as a manual remote shutter release. Simply establish the camera's settings and push the remote's shutter button halfway to focus and fully to shoot. In bulb mode, slide the shutter release button forward to lock and the shutter will stay open until you release it. The Shutterboss Version II has added 2 features to offering control over the remote's settings. First, a Power Off option enables powering down the remote to conserve battery life and also a Reset option allows the Shutterboss' settings to be reset to default settings with just the hold of two buttons. A default reset is a time-saver to avoid changing each setting individually. For simple shutter release, extended self-timer options, continuous shooting, long exposures, or time-lapse shooting, the Shutterboss Version II Remote puts creative camera control in the palm of your hand.

An essential item for astrophotography.

I use this with a Nikon D5600 to automate long exposure astrophotography sequences. Very easy to use. It is very important to minimize camera shake. It also makes it more convenient that you don't have to deal with each individual exposure when you talk about sometimes having to combine hundreds of additional exposures into one image. This is very useful for all types of photography. The Vello Shutterboss II's backlit screen feature is a huge bonus for night photography.

  • Some small things

My $20 fake this remote took 5 years before I bought this one. I've only had it a few months (maybe 10 times used) and now the trigger doesn't work, it's the only real purpose! It's still under warranty, but I have to send it in for repair and pay the postage. I would NOT recommend this, buy one of the cheaper fakes! Now I'm interested in the price of 3 cheap devices, because I want to buy a well-known brand, which, as you understand, does not have additional functions and clearly does not have

Response Time Estimate of the Vello Shutterboss Version II Remote Release Shutter Release for Nikon Cameras. Here are my comments: 1. I don't use 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries. They tend to lick. I use 1.2V AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries. They are less likely to leak. These batteries may need charging if left unused for a long time.2. If you set your camera exposure to long exposure, you need to add 1 second to the exposure to get the correct exposure. For example, you want a shutter speed of 10
