Buyer beware, sometimes you get a bad batch

I bought these about a year ago but didn't have to open them until recently. Apparently I somehow got a bad batch. None of the CD-Rs can be written. I've tried at least a dozen with the same problem. Then I tried another CD-R brand and it worked great, so I know the problem wasn't with my computer or the software I used to burn it. About a week ago I contacted Verbatim customer service and explained my situation but they didn't even bother to reply. I've been using CD-R Verbatim for many years…

Pros
  • CD-Rs
Cons
  • Almost OK

Poor Revain packaging. slices are good. Verbatim CD-R 700MB 52X White

The product worked well. But I was surprised to see "1-52x speed" on the label. Other other brands said only 52x. I used 20 CD-Rs out of 100, they all burned well, no errors. Here's the problem, Amazon's packaging! The product was not packed securely in the box. It had 2 small air pods but could slide 3 inches! The weight of the discs on the spindle hit the body so hard that 2 locking blocks broke. There was a 1/4 inch piece of plastic floating in the plastic cover with the discs! Two fiber…

Pros
  • Blank media

Know your surface! - Accessories and consumables

I prefer the white surface CD-R to the signature surface CD-R because the CD looks much better and the whole surface can be used. However, Verbatim sells two different types of CD-Rs. The one with a white finish, including the hub center (on this list), has a slightly rougher finish, while the other style leaves the hub section clean and has a smoother, semi-gloss finish. I'm not sure if it makes a difference if your application involves inkjet printing to CD as I have no experience with that…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Very expensive

Verbatim's first product return

In the last ten years I've only ordered JVC CD -R for inkjet printing, sometimes also silver JVCs. Sometimes I also use the DataLifePlus Inkjet CD-R. I choose the print option as the white top is much stronger than the standard silver top. I recommend avoiding them. The first three discs didn't work in my player. I recorded accurate 1:1 data on a Mitsubishi brand DataLifePlus disc and it is perfectly readable on the same player. This is a new brand from CMC. They look very cheap, the underside…

Pros
  • Incredible disc speed to burn 80 minute files in less than 2 minutes and 700MB to store up to 225 photos
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
